Get ready for the Kentucky Derby with a slice of pure indulgence! Our Classic Kentucky Derby Pie features the fresh taste of Pete & Gerry's eggs and is a simple yet spectacular dessert. Its chocolatey, nutty filling and a hint of bourbon warmth make it the perfect way to celebrate the most exciting two minutes in sports (and beyond!).
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Press pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate. Cut a ring of aluminum foil the size of the pie dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together Pete & Gerry's eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, salt, flour, vanilla, and bourbon until smooth.
- Stir in melted butter, chocolate chips, and pecans.
- Pour mixture into the prepared pie crust and cover the edge with the foil ring.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil; bake 20-25 minutes longer until filling has puffed and is golden. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Cool on a wire rack and serve with whipped cream or ice cream (if desired).
