SALEM, N.H. (June 12, 2025) –  The Pete & Gerry’s Family of Brands, parent company of Pete & Gerry’s and Nellie’s Free Range, has been named Mindful Awards’ 2025 “Egg Product of the Year”[1]  for its egg-ucation efforts and mission towards healthy hens, healthy eggs, and a healthy planet.

Amid a particularly confusing and disruptive time for the egg industry, marked by the impact of avian influenza on egg prices and availability nationwide, Pete & Gerry’s focused on delivering egg-ucation at the point of purchase and throughout the shopping experience. The goal was to inform both consumers and retailers about the vast differences between types of eggs, especially the misleadingly idyllic "cage-free" label compared to the truly humane standards found on free-range and pasture-raised farms like those of Pete & Gerry’s and Nellie’s. By consistently sharing timely and relevant information about the state of avian influenza, Pete & Gerry’s reinforced its role as a trusted authority in the egg industry, at a time when consumers needed clarity most.
