Case Taper (4-Day Workweek)

Ideal Team Member

$1,500 Sign On Bonus - First $750 at 45 days of employment, and the next $750 at 90 days.

The Case Taper position is responsible for palletizing finished cartons for product on the clean side of the processing plant. This role is responsible for the final inspection of the finished carton box. Duties include monitoring the date code on finished cases per customer-specific requirements and monitoring for damaged or compromised product.

The box taper crew must be prepared to change direction per customer or internal changes and/or requirements to satisfy processing needs. Any deviations from the requirements checklist must meet approval from authorizing Manager. Any deviations from any food safety procedure must meet approval from the Quality Assurance Manager.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

On time punctuality and good attendance, Stage materials for days production including pallets, cardboard and pallet trays, Change tape on machine in the morning or downtime, Start machine and printer for 6:30 a.m. processing start, Assist with labeling and staging of boxes or cartons as needed, Palletize boxes per customer label, Stack boxes neatly, inspecting for any damage or compromise; return to rework and/or waste, Inform Team Leaders of any shortages of required counts per Daily Production Plan, Monitor date code on finished cases per customer requirements (inform maintenance of issues), Segregate materials and maintain spacing from exterior wall spacing, Keep work area neat and clean as time allows utilizing downtime (sweeping, etc.), Comply with all food safety procedures, regulatory requirements and process efficiency, Report any food safety issues to any Manager, Follow all workplace safety procedures per safety training, Assist end of day cleanup of waste eggs, pans and buckets, dump rubbish and clean work area, Comply with Food Safety and GMP requirements at all times Any and all other duties as assigned, All issues or non-conformances related to quality assurance or food safety must immediately be reported to the Quality Assurance Manager or departmental supervisor/manager for communication with the Quality Assurance Manager.

Key Skills and Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a production environment preferred

Preferred Skills

Attention to detail, Organizational skills, Strong work ethic, Good communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, Frequent lifting up to 35-50 pounds, Extended periods of time standing and walking, Frequent repetitive reaching motion with both arms, Frequent grasping with hands and fingers, Frequent bending and stooping, Ability to keep up in fast-paced environment.
