Fire at the Farm

Friday, December 30, 2011

Just after midnight on December 20, there was a fire at our farm that destroyed a new, larger egg processing plant, which was under construction. Thankfully, no employees, fire fighters or hens were injured.

Due to the heroic efforts of local fire crews to protect our main office and processing plant, our employees were able to report for work in our existing facility later that morning and process eggs just like they do every day.  No eggs were damaged, and our food safety procedures made sure every egg was safe to ship.

While the fire will delay completion of the new plant, it had no impact on our quality, processing and speed of delivery.
