Protecting Our Environment | | Over the last fifty years, the push for greater productivity has made farming very energy inefficient and often environmentally insensitive. Today’s mechanized farms use a lot of energy. The overuse of pesticides has created pesticide-resistant weeds and insects, and the overuse of commercial fertilizers has created a deficit in nutrients and micro-components in the soil.
As part of our sustainability efforts, we’re constantly evaluating and modifying our procedures for everything from powering our barns to designing our packaging.
