| Who are Pete and Gerry? | ||

| Pete takes care of the eggs on our farm. Pete grew up here in Monroe, and started working on the farm with his father Rod. No egg leaves our farm without Pete's approval, and he makes sure the eggs reach the stores quickly. Pete also takes care of our twenty employees, the larger family. Some have been working for us for over 25 years! In the afternoon, when the hens aren't laying and almost everyone has gone home for the day, Pete likes to get away for an hour and play basketball. |

Gerry takes care of the hens on our farm. Gerry grew up in New Hampshire's largest city, Manchester. He married the farmer's daughter, Carol, and moved up here to the country. He has been raising and taking care of the hens for 31 years. Gerry is most proud of keeping Pete and Gerry's a small family farm, where he can make sure all his hens will lay the freshest, best tasting organic eggs anywhere. Every once in a while during the winter, Gerry likes to get away on the less hectic afternoons and go skiing. |
Four generations of farmers
Our family has been producing eggs for four generations and is one of several proud family farms in Monroe, New Hampshire
Robert's son, Les Ward, also known by his family as Gramp, returned to Monroe, New Hampshire after serving as a dive-bomber pilot in World War II. Les began farming with only a few hundred hens. He is proud that the small family farm that he started many years ago has remained small today, producing eggs the way that he used to, cage free, and without antibiotics, medications or pesticides. "Gramp" is Pete's Uncle and Gerry's Father-in-law.Today Les continues to enjoy visiting the farm and insists on maintaining his title as head lawn care specialist at the farm.

When the farm was passed on to Les' son-in-law Gerry Laflamme and to Rodney's son Peter Stanton, the two continued the tradition of quality and freshness with their own high standards-an organic egg produced without antibiotics, medication, hormones, pesticides, or animal byproducts.
Carol is the daughter of Les and wife of Gerry. Carol grew up working on the farm and is involved today with the "Chicken Hospital" and she also does a variety of other jobs around the farm ranging from packing eggs to landscaping at the farm.
Jesse Laflamme, son of Gerry and Carol Laflamme, graduated from Bates College in May, 2000. Jesse decided to join the family business after graduation and does everything from talking to supermarket buyers to working out in the barns. Jesse enjoys working with his dad Gerry and plans to continue the standards set before him.Our Farm Family

We are proud of our family farm and the eggs produced by our hens. We raise our hens from day old chicks in cage-free barns. When our hens reach egg-laying maturity we house them in cage-free barns where they can roam about freely. We provide our hens with roosting areas and places to scratch. Our hens are also provided with outside access when conditions are appropriate. The hens lay their eggs in nests which look like little houses. When you enter the barns you are greeted by the happy clucks of our hens!
Our Town
Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs is located in a small town in New Hampshire called Monroe. Monroe, New Hampshire was given its name in 1854 when it separated from Lyman, New Hampshire and was renamed for President James Monroe. The town population is approximately 800 people. The town of Monroe continues to hold traditional events at the town hall such as the annual Halloween parade and holiday craft fair. Also, people from the surrounding towns gather in Monroe every fall for the Annual Lords Acre Auction where you can place your bid on items such as cream puffs made by Monroe residents (often a top seller) or enjoy homemade donuts made right on the spot. Yum!
